Revenge of the Birds

You know how in the cartoons when a bird gets hit or falls or something the feathers do a little "poof" thing and float through the air as the bird falls? Well, I can tell you that it happens in real life, too.

Imagine, if you would, a bright, somewhat good morning (I don't consider any mornings "good" mornings) as you start off your morning commute. As you drive along the road, there is a bird in the middle of the road. Despite thoughts of, "Move out of the way, stupid bird!!" the possibly suicidal bird remains in the middle of the road. Just as you approach it, you think, maybe it will just sit there, and my car will pass safely over the top of it. Alas, at the last moment, the bird, who had been a "sitting duck" decided to move . . . and make a kamikaze dive into the front end of your car. And so proceeded the sound effects . . . . "thud" . . . "poof" and the visual of feathers, as if someone had tossed a handful of them in front of the camera.

And if that wasn't enough, as I turned the corner fearing potential bird parts in the front grille of my car, a fellow avian associate decided to relieve itself all over my car. Gross. So much for a somewhat good morning.

LOL! Sorry you hit a bird, poor thing! "Look at me! I'm so ticked off that I'm molting!"

Rachael took the best quote. I think you need a pity party; Ella would be happy to help.
