Another school year is down the drain, and fortunately, all 26 students walked out of my classroom on their own power. However, it was a close call for some of them. On the last day of school, I managed to have one student walk out on me and another student get three strikes before lunch. It was a very productive morning. Needless to say, by the end of the day, I was counting the seconds until the final bell. But we all survived and I've got three months to prepare for the next bunch of hooligans.
One of the most entertaining things about my last day of school this year was one of the gifts from a student. He wrote the following on two post-it notes stuck together. (Spelling and grammar has been kept in it's original form.) "Thank you for the awesome year. To show my apretiation I made a home made bookmark and the wood thing no idea . . . I think I will call it paint it then use it well if you want to paint it you can use it as a cub holder if you have any questions you can email me at ______ . You can take off the sticky notes." And now I am the proud owner of a . . . .Any suggestions on the function of this particular creation would be greatly appreciated!

Um . . . candy box? Paper bin? Cell phone/key holder?
Post-it note holder.
Ahhh! You're done? I still have 18 days....
I'm in agreement with the Post-it note holder. Of course you could always use it as a shadow box, hang it on the wall and all that. Or perhaps you could use it as a small loom . . .
